Under Spanish manager Roberto Martinez, Wigan plays skill-based football with under-rated atheletic and skillful players, unlike most traditional long-ball English teams . Martinez had been great in player recuritment in his debut season last year. Players like French WG N'Zogbia and Colombia CF Rodallega are great bargain buys and now being chased around the league. However, the team lacks the depth and veterans with English top-flight experience to fight for higher position in the preimership. How success will the team be this season will very much depends on how fast the new foreigners settle into the team and whether the 2 Dutch defenders can quickly improve the team sorry defense. With so many relatively unheard foreigners in the team, the team could either surprise doubters or keep being inconsistent and disappoint.
